From the Office

The school office including the principal’s office, is the heart of the school. Pietman Swanepoel has been at Alma School since 2009 and he has been appointed as the principal in 2017.

VISION OF THE PRINCIPAL:

To operate as leader of the entire teaching situation to realize the school’s vision. To create the best LSEN school in the country with the happiest learners, parents and staff.

MISSION OF THE PRINCIPAL:

To act as the link between the interest groups, with the support of the participating management. To determine norms for the educational and teaching duties of Alma School. To continuously ensure as leader that policies are put into practice and aims are developed. To ensure that the education and learning of the children enjoy first priority. Backed by a relationship of trust, to accompany the entire education corps of the school to keep abreast of the latest developments and changes regarding the field of education. To reinforce each teacher’s self-image, and acknowledge him/her as an individual in order to increase efficiency in the classroom. To promote the status and esteem of the school in the eyes of the broad community. “We do our best to create a safe haven for each learner, and teach them with love and passion to grow into a young adult to be proud of.” We also assist parents with referrals to alternative facilities if our learning program is not suited for the child.

Administration

The administration department is responsible for the accurate recordkeeping of all the aspects of the school.   Complete databases of learner and parent information are kept, as well as information of debit order holders and Alma Friends. The same goes for staff records and information.   This department also compiles the fortnightly newsletter and ensures efficient communication with parents and other stakeholders.   We provide administration services to all learners, parents, visitors and staff.   The administration department assists with all school related marketing and fundraising events.
